Distinguishing between corrugated board grades

What is the main difference between the different qualities? To find out, you must look at the number and amplitude of waves that each cardboard contains in its papers. We can easily identify them if we see a cross-section with a somewhat trained gaze.

Double Channel Carton (BC)

Double Channel (BC) corrugated cardboard is recommended for:

  • Boxes that need high puncture resistance
  • High resistance to stacking
  • Packaging with heavy interior loads
  • Double Channel Carton (AC)

Combining a large wave with a medium wave, we reach 9 mm. It not only represents a great cushioning capacity and resistance to handling. It also gives it properties to keep the interior safe from moisture.

Triple Channel Carton (ACC)

This quality is the highest in terms of resistance, both to stacking and to potential perforations that can occur during storage and handling. This triple channel combines different waves and qualities with seven different papers glued together, giving it an approximate thickness of 13 millimeters. It is such a high quality of corrugated cardboard and is so reinforced that it is ideal for those large packages that need to withstand high loads.
