Overview

Kedarkantha journey (not to be mistaken for the well-known scorch Dham yatra Kedarnath) is a 6-day long trip in Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in the Uttarkashi area of Uttarakhand (It is a 6day trek including the travel days from Dehradun to the base camp and back to the Dehradun).Kedarkantha is effectively quite possibly the most well known trip in Uttrakhand as well as in the entire country—famous among enthusiastic travelers and fledglings the same.

There are many reasons why this Kedarkantha trek is a very popular trek to do in the Indian Himalayas.  The most important place of the trek is — the summit climb.

The summit climb of Kedarkantha is an adventurous and fruitful one. Right from the base camp of the trek, the summit emerges. When you start your trek in the early hours of the morning and gradually climb up the steep slope, the beautiful face of the world opens up around you.

The climb is not so easy. The entire journey is steadily steep. As you get close to the summit, it gets tricky and a little risky as well. But the big mountains of the upper side Himalayas keep you company until you finally reach your final destination. As you push ahead the spot you take to see the grand perspectives on the Himalayas from the culmination, you will feel a solid, glad and feeling of fulfillment and achievement. This feeling can’t be expressed in words. Very few treks offer the same level of adventure and fun

A splash of colours will be there wherever you turn with a blanket of meadows on lower altitudes. The days will be dazzling with the nights becoming more endurable. This season offers pleasant weather for trekking on the lap of nature.

Kedarkantha in Summer

The sun is bright on top and it is even considered hot by many people. On the other hand, June greets random rainfall but it is rare and not very heavy. The best thing about trekking at this time would be that in Summers many people go for treks with higher altitudes. Kedarkantha is not very crowded and offers you enough peace and isolation if that is what you are looking for. Only disadvantage is that you will not find any snow in this season.
